Our farm has been in the possession of the same family since at least the 1540s. In 2014, we moved from dairy cows to Hereford suckler cows. The cows calve once a year and care for their calves on pasture for about 5 months. The main function of the cows is to care for the traditional landscape. Grazing keeps the landscape open and increases biodiversity.
Some of the cows on our farm are also taken with their calves to summer pastures on nearby islands. There is also another cattle farm on our island. The grazed traditional landscape can be admired along the village road.
